VISA

To get your Brazilian Tourist Visa:

To enter Brazil one must have a tourist visa. (The citizens of some countries are exempt - click here to see the list of exempt countries).

Because of the prices many people are applying for the 5-year multiple entrance visa to Brazil that is validated when your passport is stamped upon arrival.

If you require a business visa, the requirements may be different - contact a Brazilian consulate for further information. To have more accurate information, we suggest you log on to the Consulate or Embassy website of the jurisdiction you belong to. Check the state jurisdiction in US). Find the consulate nearest you. Click here for a list of consulates.

To apply for a Brazilian tourist visa one must have the following documents:

  1. One (01) full face, front view, passport photo stapled or glued onto the application form.

  2. One (01) Xerox copy of your airline ticket or flight itinerary, or a letter from an airline company or travel agency stating that a roundtrip ticket has been purchased by the applicant. The letter must include the travel dates.

  3. A current signed passport or a permit to reenter the U.S. The passport must be valid for at least 6 additional months and must be signed. Visas will not be granted to holders of unsigned passports. The passport must have two (02) unmarked "VISA" pages (not "ENDORSEMENT" pages). An additional fee will be charged to return the applicant's documents.

  4. A completed and signed application form (spaces 1-27 must be filled in and the signature must be original - faxed or xeroxed signatures are not acceptable).

  5. Since November 2001, some of the Brazilians Consulates are no longer accepting applications for visas submitted by mail. Some Consulates accepting only visa submissions brought in by the applicant in person or by a family member/third party properly identified. Applicants who cannot comply with those procedures may use the services of a visa agency.

  6. The application form is the same for all kinds of visas. We suggest you to contact the nearest Consulate and ask for an up-date form.
